🚔 The Empire Strikes back, the Return III
The EU Council has just greenlit a new "chat control" mandate, effectively signing a blank check for mass surveillance draped in the language of child protection. This time, it drops the explicit obligation for companies to scan all private messages but quietly introduces what opponents describe as an indirect system of pressure. It rewards or penalizes online services depending on whether they agree to carry out “voluntary” scanning, effectively making intrusive monitoring a business expectation rather than a legal requirement.
This isn't a slippery slope; it's a lubricated slide into a panopticon, where private messages are no longer private, and our digital correspondence is automatically scanned. The vote, pushed through despite significant opposition and technical illiteracy, mandates the scanning of our most intimate communications, all under the guise of fighting evil, yet dismantling the very idea of digital privacy for an entire continent. It seems the road to the hell is once again paved with "good" intentions.

👾 Thousands of people speak louder then a lonesome cowboy
Probably nothing - just thousands showing up through the day for privacy. 🥲 🥹 🖤

🚀 Dyne.org's Sovereign Build of Longfellow-zk
At Dyne.org, we are committed to building a digital Europe that is sovereign, secure, and aligned with our core values. Today, we announce a key step in this direction: our build of Google's longfellow-zk library.
Why this matters?
Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) are rapidly becoming a foundational technology for the next generation of the internet, enabling trust and verification without compromising privacy. However, relying on external entities for such critical infrastructure creates strategic dependencies.
This project is more than code; it's a building block for a resilient and trustworthy European digital sphere.
✅ Removed Google Play & OpenSSL dependencies
✅ Added test environment with CLI tools and JSON schemas
✅ Actively porting to WebAssembly, Android & iOS
✅ Fully Apache 2.0, no CLA required to contribute
🙌 We invite developers, institutions and the open-source community to join us in this essential effort.

⏳ Viaggio nella memoria elettronica
"Journey into Electronic Memory" is a street art work created at the MIAI headquarters between October and December 2023 by Amaele Serino (Tiskio) and Carmelo Gervasi (Melo).
This year, the calendar of the MIAI is based on this art work!
When renovating the museum's current premises, a decision was made to remove the suspended ceiling in the long corridor where the second part of the exhibition unfolds. Electrical wires, air conditioning, and security systems were hidden behind the sheet metal panels. A labyrinth of pipes, conduits, faucets, boxes, and corrugated pipes were finally on display.
Captivated by a cyberpunk inspiration, the Museum noticed the similarity between the inside of a computer and the aesthetics of the systems themselves. They decided to enhance and contextualize them with a mural artwork with the help of the infamous Brò Crew 360.

Acid December is upon us. This thousand-year-old tradition demands your submission. It assembles the annual sonic grimoire, it's a track-a-day ritual that carries through the liminal space and into the 36th of December.

👻 A séance for the ghosts in the analog machine.
A broadcast from the static between channels, a digital Wunderkammer where forgotten media (the VHS haze, the corrupted file, the broadcast signal drifting into noise) is resurrected.
This isn't nostalgia; it's digital archaeology for the beautiful, the broken, and the bizarre. In a world obsessed with HD and perfection, Trash Palace curates the glorious glitch, finding meaning in the artifacts the digital world tried to leave behind. It is a temple where the ghosts of dead media are invited to dance.

🪦 Doomsday is not a date. It’s a mood.
This stark, minimalist clock doesn’t tick in seconds, but in the collective dread and geopolitical fears of our species. It measures nothing less than our own self-created proximity to destruction. It's a countdown not to a specific moment, but to the silence we ourselves might choose. The site is a mirror, not a premonition. It reflects a simple, chilling consternation: our tools of power have long outpaced our wisdom to use them. Every tick is a choice. Every tock, a consequence.

Webinar on Continuity Funding
🗓️ January 7th 2026
🕑 4 pm CET
This webinar will be dedicated to discussing a new form of research and innovation (R&I) funding: Continuity funding.
Current funding schemes, like Horizon grants, are hurting the R&I ecosystem because they stimulate non-sustainable research lines, wasteful spending of time and resources on grant competitions, and precarious labour.
Continuity funding tries to offer an alternative. In a nutshell, it comprises funding for international R&I networks of junior scholars and innovators that does not expire, facilitating renewal through natural career progression (individuals leave a network once they gain a fixed position). Read more about it here:

The webinar consists of a presentation of the idea of continuity funding, followed by a Q&A and discussion of further action and next steps.
